1. What the extension does

Blur Opposite Gender is a browser extension that detects people in YouTube videos, Shorts and thumbnails and blurs them according to your settings. Detection is performed by an AI model that is bundled inside the extension and runs locally in your browser.

2. Data processed on your device

• Video frames and thumbnails shown on YouTube are analysed in memory on your computer. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and are not saved.
• Thumbnail images are downloaded directly from YouTube's own image servers (ytimg.com) by the extension in order to analyse them — the same images YouTube already shows you.

3. Data stored by the extension

• Your settings (for example who to blur and blur strength) are saved with Chrome's built-in storage. If you are signed in to Chrome, Chrome may sync these settings between your devices through your Google account.
• A speed measurement (milliseconds per check) is stored locally so the settings panel can show it.

The extension does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and does not read your browsing history.

4. Payments and subscription

Payments are processed by our payment provider (PayFast). Your card or wallet details are entered on the provider's secure page and are never received or stored by us. To manage your subscription we keep your email address, your license key, the plan and its expiry date. We use your email only to deliver your license key, send payment receipts and answer support requests.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information. Payment data is handled only by the payment provider, under its own privacy policy.

6. Permissions the extension asks for

• Access to youtube.com and ytimg.com — to detect and blur people on YouTube pages and to load thumbnails for analysis.
• Storage — to remember your settings.
• Scripting — to reactivate blurring on already-open YouTube tabs after the extension updates.

7. Children

The extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
